Periodontitis – Causes

Causes

  • Suboptimal oral hygiene
  • Smoking
  • Malnutrition
  • Vitamin and mineral deficiencies
  • Medicines
  • Focal infection in the teeth and interference fields, e.g. dead teeth and sources of inflammation in the jaws
  • Incompatible materials in the mouth as well as on and in the body
  • Problems caused by heavy metals, e.g. amalgam, palladium, copper contraceptive coils
  • Unfavorable diet with lots of sugar, white flour and pork
  • Toothpastes with  sodium lauryl sulphate lead to peeling of the mucous membrane
  • If periodontitis develops in certain groups of teeth, then an organ system is dysfunctional. In the case of periodontitis in the whole mouth, the digestive organs such as stomach, intestines, spleen, liver and pancreas are dysfunctional.
  • A serious deterioration of the bone holding the teeth can indicate a dysfunction of the kidneys. The kidneys represent the "primal energy".
  • Metabolic disorders like diabetes
