TENS
The masticatory muscles are relaxed with a special frequency using a TENS device. TENS stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, i.e. nerve stimulation by applying electrical current through the skin. TENS has long been applied in pain therapy using different frequencies.
The position found using myocentric is usually first "tried out" with a bite aid and subsequently corrected. Only when this position proves to be comfortable and correct, is it finally implemented in the mouth. That means the bite – the harmonious fit of the upper and lower jaws – is adjusted to exactly this position.
